Frequently asked questions
A: Classes are held on Saturdays, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., with a 5-minute break. A total of 31 courses are held during the school year. (There are also summer and winter vacations and other holidays).
A: Classes are held exclusively in person at Jean-de-Brébeuf College.
A: Anyone aged 16 or over in September can register.
A: Students can participate in various traditional events that punctuate the Japanese calendar (Sports festival, New Year’s calligraphy, Girls’ Day, Boys’ Day, Bazaar, etc.).
A : Any nationality is welcome, and your visa status is not required to take our course.
A: New students are welcome in the fall and winter sessions only. Please note, however, that winter courses follow on from fall courses. No make-up courses are offered.
A: Students must make up the missed class(es) on their own. The teacher will be able to provide additional information and/or support material for the make-up.
A : Yes, a placement test is necessary to ensure that your chosen level corresponds to the standard of our courses. Tests are available online ($).
A : The maximum number of students per class is 25. If the minimum number of students (8) is not reached, the class is closed.
A : An annual membership fee of 10 CA$ and textbooks fee.
A : Japanese is the primary language. French and English will be used as support languages to explain and clarify certain concepts.
A : No, this course is designed for personal enrichment and skill development.
A : Even in the absence of an alert, classes may be cancelled depending on weather conditions and power outages in the area around the Center. Please check your email or Google Classroom before class if you expect classes to be cancelled.
